Kevin was able to talk to Aleks last week and to let him know he was getting a package from us. Kevin also talked to him about what he would want his name to be in America. He said he wanted to keep his name the same - what we know as "Alex"...but, we want to spell it the way he does in Latvian - ALEKS. I am glad he didn't want to change it...I just know him by Aleks and think it would be hard for me to see him as something else.

This past weekend, we were able to spend time with our friends that hosted Aleks over Christmas, Jamie and Chris. It was fun to talk about his personality, the things that Aleks liked to do while he was with them and just hearing what they experienced over those weeks with him.

We also received our date for our biometrics (type of fingerprinting). We will be heading to Atlanta on April 16. It will go to the US Homeland Security. Once we get our approval the file will head over to Latvia.

I am still wondering what Aleks thought of his package of "goodies"...what did he think of the photo album? Did he share all the tattoos? I am still just waiting...

Even through all the waiting, we are so excited we just can't stand it. I was just talking to Christy, one of my best friends, that it our worlds are getting ready to change...forever. You see, she has just received her referral for her baby daughter. And they have been on this journey for 3.5 years. They too are getting ready to travel to get their little girl, Charis from China. So many things are happening and this journey is packed with adventure...

Until, my next entry, I am waiting for God's next step.
