Well, I headed to my meeting and still had not heard anything yet. You see we had petitioned to go to orphanage court in June and had been waiting to hear…did we need to get our flights and all the details set for the girls and dog…work…

At the start of the meeting, I texted Kevin to see if he had heard anything…but, nothing. Half way through the meeting, we were heading into a break and still nothing yet….The meeting continued and at the end of the meeting and the room was cleared, one friend left in the room…I opened my e-mails to find a message from Kevin…Robyn and I read it together!

There it was our letter from Latvia. With a court date!!!!  -- Tears --

Dear Kevin,

The orphan court didn't accept your coming on June, but they can work with your adoption immediately after the hosting program. You can come together with the group and August 6 will be first orphan court. Is it OK for you?

Daina

Is that OK for you?  YES!!!!

So, backing up, through the last few weeks we thought we would be traveling in June…God had a different schedule. Our thoughts were, not to worry about the hosting program due to us being in Latvia before it started…but if we choose not to host him we would not see him until August.

Well that decision was easy to make. Of course we want our son with us during the hosting program. But we had to make sure he was still set up to come over as a host child….Kevin got on the phone with New Horizons for Children. They let us know that Aleks’ shirt for the program with is ID tag was pulled out of the box and sitting on the desk…But the funny thing is, the box had not been shipped yet – just like God…

So now, we will have our son through the summer and he will arrive on JUNE 24. We will spend all summer together! He will get to be with his new family. Meet his new friends. And we will adjust to each other for six weeks…then, we will head to Latvia – TOGETHER!!!

The court date is scheduled for August 6, my birthday. Happy Birthday to me!!!

The journey gets more exciting each day, doesn't it? Like God saying each step..."I did it this time and I'll take care of it next time too. Just let me handle it, you'll be ok!" Looking so forward to meeting Aleks in 3 WEEKS!!!!!
