We have all wondered what was going to happen in our future. Many of us have put it on paper, planned it out, and even booked it on the calendar.
I have thought about my future in wonderment, just thinking maybe I could figure it out - one day… And each time it looks a little different. I love to think about life as a journey, a process, that something exciting is just around the corner of life.
Through resent years, there have been a lot of changes that have happened in my life. Some have been hard, some sad, and some very exciting.
• I have learned what my passions are and some just keep growing.
• I have been learning ways to share my faith in God to the children in my life – creatively, of course.
• Been working through the process of how to "really" love others, even the difficult ones.
• And to go outside of the "comfortable"...
• I have experienced, personal one-on-one chats with God and have learned what "fast and pray" really means.
I am comforted by the faithful guidance of the One that is clearing the path for me.
Today, I am on a new journey. Another corner to turn, one that my whole family is holding hands on…we are opening our hearts to love someone we have never met. We are sharing our faith with someone that may not know our Savior. We are making our home a “home” to someone that doesn’t know what that is. We are going to share tears, laughter, fear, hugs, bike rides, long walks, prayer time, meal time, family time, car rides, vacations, our church and all parts of our life journey – with ALEKS….this only the beginning.
You see, you just never know what that future will look like completely. And just when you think it is all planned out and clearly defined…God may say, let’s take this route…
…and I'm looking forward to what is ahead.
