Thursday, okay, it was a busy day. There was a lot to do and we needed to keep to somewhat of a schedule. The girls and I headed to the church in the morning. They worked on their school day and worked on Sunday details and prepped for our exciting Kidzu event. Kevin was downtown working at the annual barista competition.
Now, I don’t like to over book our schedule, to then get frustrated. So, Kevin and I talked earlier that morning and were reminding each other to stay on top of the busy schedule and not get distracted.
We were schedule to have our second home study at 5 p.m. We were on a mission.
We worked through our day and left our places and projects to rush home by 5 p.m. Kevin and I talked via cell phone on our way home just to see how we were doing. I arrived at our house at 20 minutes til 5 p.m. and in my drive way was Kelly. She was early.
The girls, Kelly and I headed into the house and I started the personal interview process. This visit was to find out about Kevin and I. You know the personal stuff. What your parents were like, what you learned from them, what your childhood memories were, if you have hobbies, how you will teach your child, who all our siblings are, where all family members live…and the list continued…and about half way through my questions, Kevin arrived to share his answers. Now, I have to tell you this was one of the most interesting and difficult things for me to do…and it really wasn’t the questions being asked of me. Any one that knows me, knows that I always have a lot to say. The problem was that Kelly was on a tight schedule too and she only had one hour to talk to us…so, I talked a lot, really fast and I had to share my talk time with Kevin.
In the end, we did it – our second home study done, with all our life details in under one hour. I know, I know, it is hard for me to believe too.
One more meeting to go and a thick file of paperwork to complete…more later.
