She is growing up….Kristen is fourteen and has a big heart for children. Here are a few things she has been doing…
Over the past few months, I have watched her develop her ideas and put them into motion. She has created a doll to be hand made for all the little girls in the Hope for Guatemala program – the KiKi Doll. She has learned how to sew through all this and has given each doll so far her personal touch. Even though there are still 75 dolls to be made before the first week of April, she has not given up. We have requested and recruited help in making them and she has faith that they will be complete over the next few weeks.
Kristen has a connection with a little girl in our church that has been dealing with cancer. When Lily is able to attend Kidzu, Lily seeks out Kristen and wants to be with her. So when Kristen’s dance studio, Still Pointe, asked her to be a part of the Choreographers Concert in May, she came up with another great idea. She thought it would be great to dedicate her dance to Lily. She has been listening to many songs and working on details. And I know this dance will be one with passion, emotion, and Lily power!
I am excited to see the outcome of each of these events in Kristen’s life. It seems to just be her passion to make a difference. And I am so thankful!
